Fatty Acids Analysis
Fatty acids are the fundamental building blocks of many lipids. They are found in membrane lipids to provide structure and function, metabolized for energy, and used in signaling pathways.
This analysis targets over 30 fatty acids.
(Note: be sure to specify if you want FREE fatty acids or TOTAL fatty acids or BOTH.)
Minimal sample amounts:
- Bodily Fluids (serum/plasma, urine, etc.): 50 μL
- Cells: 1e6 cell pellets
- Tissues: 50 mg
- Feces: 30 mg
- Other sample sources contact us for more guidance
- Note: If you're interested in both FREE and TOTAL fatty acid analysis, try to submit double the amounts listed above.
- Note: Given fatty acids often are found on the surfaces of plastics, it is good practice to send an empty blank control.

Below is a list of the fatty acids covered in this panel. Don't see your favorite fatty acid of interest? Let us know and we'll add it to the list when analyzing your samples.
