Is Orientation mandatory?

Yes, orientation is mandatory.
How do I participate in orientation?

Students will be expected to participate in Orientation in-person.
If I am unable to attend Orientation due to an emergency, who do I contact?

You may contact Lisa Pearce, Director of Admissions, at lmpearce@utmb.edu.
Will attendance be taken for each activity?

Yes, administration will take attendance for each session.
Can I invite my family to orientation?

No. Orientation is for students only.
Where can I find the schedule for Orientation?

The schedule is available on Blackboard, the JSSOM website, and it will be sent via email.
If I wish to review what was presented in Orientation, will I have access?

All Orientation presentations will be uploaded to Blackboard.
Will I be able to ask a question during Orientation?

Yes, you will be able to ask questions both in-person and via Blackboard.
When is the deadline for the All Schools Online Orientation?

You have until July 1 to complete the Online Orientation, or a Hold will be placed on your record.

Where do I park during Orientation? And will there be a parking fee?

We have arranged a free parking lot and a free shuttle for parking during Orientation (details to be emailed to you). On the last day of Orientation, students will receive their UTMB Badge and be responsible for all future parking. You may purchase parking prior to Orientation using this link with your UTMB credentials.
Where can I get a parking pass once I receive my UTMB Badge?

Please refer to the parking department for all your parking needs. You can find more information about student parking here. To speed up your parking pass process, be sure to submit the parking contract prior to coming to campus. For more information, contact UTMB Parking at 409-266-PARK (7275).
I am not familiar with the UTMB campus. Where do I park when I need to report to campus?

You have the option to park in the Barracuda Lot. Student Life will provide a shuttle to the HEC building. More information will be provided in an email.

How do I access the Online Orientation?

You will log in to the Online Orientation using your UTMB credentials. If you need help remembering your credentials, you will need to contact Information Services at (409) 772-5200. Click here to access the Online Orientation. If you have any technical issues while completing Online Orientation, please contact Student Life at student.life@utmb.edu or (409) 772-1996.
How do I get an ID Badge?

UTMB badge photos will be taken on your first day or Orientation and you will receive your badge during your Learning Communities day on July 29^th. You will receive information about your photo time and pick up instructions prior to Orientation.
What is the first course in the curriculum, and when does it start?

Your first course will be The Doctoring and Clinical Skills Course (DoCS) and will begin on August 3^rd, 2026.
